Window selection method very slow

I am using Autocad 2000. Was working in a certain drawing and all of a sudden when I want to make a selection by "window" method, I have to sit and wait many seconds for the selection to be complete.

If I close out of Autocad and re-open, the problem still exists. But only in that drawing.
Also if I want to print an area and use "window" as a selection method, that works fine. I have
no clue why all of a sudden this is happening or how to correct it.

Any help is gratefully appreciated. Gerry

perhaps your drawing is bogged because it's to big. you could try doing a drawing cleanup. under the map menu if you have it and tools, drawing cleanup.
