Survey Units Question

When I enter the coordinates S82d0'0"E - 145 Feet the line goes to the north instead of the south?

When I have the drawing units set to survey units my lines do not always go in the correct direction. Ex. S82d0'0"E - 185 feet is drawn to the north.
