I am trying to plot from AutoCAD 2008 with a PC running Windows XP SP2.
The Windows operating system is being run from a partitioned MAC HD on my laptop.
I am using a rather old CalComp Techjet 5424 pen plotter.
The AutoCAD software does include a driver for this machine.
When I used an older PC with a serial port included in the tower assembly there was never an issue.
Now I am trying to use a USB to Serial cable. When I attempt to plot, the program tells me that the information was sent to the plotter but nothing ever plots.
When I ask for information it simply says there was an error and the print cancels. I think this is more of an issue with the plotter communicating with a newer machine rather than a problem with AutoCAD.
I am just hoping that someone has some answers or suggestions. I am tired of paying $6 to make one copy and my local print shop.
